The Persian Gulf Complex in Shiraz is the first commercial, entertainment, cultural and tourism complex in Iran and the seventh largest commercial complex in the world. Persian Gulf Complex has been constructed with the aim of decentralizing the city center, reducing traffic in the central part of the city and in line with economic, cultural and tourism development with 450,000 square meters of infrastructure in the northern axis of Shiraz to Sepidan and at the beginning of Sadra city.
The construction period of this huge complex lasted about 6 years (from 1984 to 1991) and finally, on April 10, 2012, its first phase, including the central store (hyperstar), three commercial blocks and two parking floors, was opened. Aftab City Art Cinema Complex was put into operation in the spring of 2017.
Architecture of Persian Gulf Complex
The architecture of the Persian Gulf complex is modeled on the Achaemenid period, which is mostly the symbol of Shiraz; All its elements, even urban furniture (such as benches, lights, etc.) are inspired by the ancient and historical monuments of Shiraz.
The huge entrance columns of this complex, which are designed and built in the shape of the columns of Persepolis World Collection, also show this, which gives a special grandeur to the complex and doubles its beauty.
In addition to the attractive interior, the exterior of the Persian Gulf complex is decorated with a variety of beautiful ponds and fountains, especially the water and fire fountain (Lotus) in the main entrance of the complex decorated with beauty and splendor.

Art of Aftab city Cinema Cultural Complex is considered as one of the most modern cultural-cinematic complexes in Iran with 6 film screening halls, a dedicated theater performance hall, VIP-hall and a dialogue hall.
The Art of Aftab city Cinema Cultural Complex has been designed by the Ash’ari Architecture Group and is a candidate for the final stage of the International Middle East Architecture Award in 2019.
